Michelle Rauch

Michelle Rauch is an award winning reporter who joined Action News 36 in the Spring of 1998 as the weekend anchor and general assignment reporter. In 2005 she was awarded a regional Edward R. Murrow award for her series on the police pay crisis in Lexington. She was also nominated for an Emmy for a story about the life-saving AED'S.

Before making Kentucky home, Michelle lived in Fort Smith, Arkansas where she was the morning anchor and a general assignment reporter. She started her career in Ardmore, Oklahoma where she was a "one man band" and anchor.

Michelle is a graduate of Southern Methodist University in her hometown of Dallas.

Even though she is a proud native Texan she is equally proud of her Kentucky ties. Her extended family lives in Germantown and Covington and her mother is a U.K. graduate. She loves calling Kentucky home and enjoys the beautiful horse country, spring and fall outings at Keeneland and all of the fantastic "day trip" opportunities across central Kentucky.

Michelle is an active volunteer in the community. She is on the board of directors for the Woodford Humane Society, is a past member of the Chrysalis House board of directors, is a member of the Junior League, and volunteers for Junior Achievement.

In 2005 Michelle was appointed to be a National Director at Large for her high school's alumni association.

In her free time Michelle enjoys photography, scrapbooking, rubber stamping/card making and spending lots of time with her dog George.
