Pleasant but toasty weather will continue over the next few days as high pressure continues to cover the northeastern third of the nation. Most of central and eastern Kentucky will stay dry through midweek, before rain chances increase as a cold front arrives at the end of the workweek. The only exception will be on Sunday, when a couple of VERY ISOLATED late-day sprinkles or showers develop in areas west of I-75. Each day will be hot, with highs consistently in the lower 90s through Thursday. The late-week cold front will cool us down slightly, in time for next weekend. Sunday: Heat and humidity levels will slowly climb as light winds blow out of the south. Most places will stay dry with plenty of sunshine, but a VERY ISOLATED shower or two may develop in the afternoon or evening, west of I-75 as the center of high pressure approaches the Atlantic Coast. Winds: S 5-10 mph. High: 92. Sunday Night: Under partly cloudy skies, extremely patchy fog will return to areas near rivers and lakes. Temperatures will be seasonable. Winds: S around 5 mph. Low: 66. Monday: Sunshine will mix with some cumulus clouds in the afternoon as we remain on the western fringe of high pressure. It will be hot, but humidity levels will remain bearable. Winds: S 5-10 mph. High: 91. Monday Night: Under partly cloudy skies, some very patchy fog will return to low-lying areas late at night, as we often see this time of year. Winds: Calm. Low: 66. Tuesday: Bright skies will feature sunshine and only a few clouds, and little will change as high pressure continues to cover the northeastern third of the nation. Humidity levels will climb very slowly, and the afternoon will be hot. Winds: SW around 5 mph. High: 90. Be sure to visit our ABC 36 Storm Team Weather Log: http://stormteam.wtvq.com
