Many parts of your car may wear out periodically and need to be replaced. Some of the most common items that need replacing are the various filters in your car as well as the spark plugs. Filters that need to be changed most often are the fuel and air filters. Your car's fuel filter traps dirt and other particles that may otherwise end up clogging the carburetor or fuel line. It should be changed every few months as a preventative measure. Usually a qualified mechanic will need to change your fuel filter. Another part that needs to be changed periodically is the air filter, which should be changed around once a year. The p-c-v, or positive crankcase ventilation, filter should also be changed yearly. Modern spark plugs don't need to be replaced as often as in the past. Some types of plugs may last for a hundred thousand miles or more. Contact your local mechanic or auto parts store for more information on spark plugs and filters for your car.
