May is National Women's Health Month, and Jessamine County's health department is getting women focused on what they need to know.
The department held a check up day on Monday, offering free health screenings that included checks on cholesterol, glucose, and bone density.
Free health care advice was also given at the screenings. Health department officials say the screenings can be eye opening, because women can find out information about their health that can affect their lives.
The screening event is in its ninth year in Jessamine County.
