Studies say many children do not get the daily recommended hours of physical activity, reading, and daily amounts of healthy foods.

So on Sunday the YMCA held a "healthy kids" day  to try to kick-start healthier behaviors in children.

Central Kentucky Y's joined 19 hundred other Y's across the country in the initiative.

YMCA's Family Health Snapshot says only 19% of children get 60 minutes of physical activity.

Seventeen percent read books for fun and 12% eat at least eight fruits and vegetables daily.
