Sunday, March 4th, 2012: Winter Returns Overnight...
Good evening, everyone. After spring-like temperatures that brought the devastating storms to Kentucky, Mother Nature is bringing back a bit of winter.
Winter Weather Advisories are in effect for much of Central and Eastern Kentucky through Monday morning.
-

-
At 10 pm, precipitation is beginning in the Bluegrass state. With temperatures still above freezing, rain is starting to change over to a mix and snow near Louisville.
-

-
With a colder start than western KY, the changeover will happen more quickly in the Bluegrass.
-

-
Most of the moderate to heavy snow bands will fall overnight, resulting in a slick commute by Monday morning. Only a few light snow showers and flurries will linger in Eastern KY just after sunrise.
-

-
The models are in fairly good agreement with snow totals....This is our in-house model's output that I think has a pretty good handle on it:

-
Generally speaking, these are my forecasted amounts....

I'll have more details coming up at 11pm, or you can check out my Facebook page for more frequent updates. Meteorologist Geoff Cornish will have the latest totals on GMK from 5-7am!
Don't forget to share your photos with us (safely, of course)!
