Friday, July 20, 2012: Moving On & Migrating North...

Good morning, everybody.  In the event you hadn't heard via my Facebook or Twitter page, or this morning's Good Morning Kentucky newscast, this is my final day at ABC 36.

Over the past (nearly) four years, I've had a great time forecasting for those of you who tune in to ABC 36.  My wife Angie and I moved to Georgetown in October of 2008, not knowing a soul in the area.  Now, we're leaving a small army of friends behind, and we're headed north with our almost 15 month old daughter Finley.

I love my job.  Forecasting is a true challenge, and communicating it effectively to a wide variety of viewers is something that I enjoy doing.  It's been my pleasure to forecast for central and eastern Kentucky, initially on weekends, and for the past 15 months, every Monday through Friday morning.

Starting next Thursday, I'll be working with the ABC station in Toledo, Ohio.  WTVG (http://www.13abc.com) is a fantastic station, and they are providing a great opportunity for me.  The new job will allow Angie to stay home with our little one, and that's one of the things we're most excited about.

As a forecaster, I'll give up the Bluegrass, but take on a climate heavily influenced by Lake Erie.  It'll be a new and exciting challenge.

I'll miss hearing from many of you who have submitted photos, snowfall reports, comments and emails over the past few years -- but feel free to look me up on Facebook, or drop me a line on Twitter (@StormOfCorn) anytime!

Thanks again for everything!  Kentucky has been a fantastic home -- this is a beautiful state, and we'll take wonderful memories with us.  We will be back to visit.

I wish each of you the absolute best!
