Midnight Update: Skies remain mostly clear this evening, but more clouds are still expected to develop Friday afternoon. Grad a coat if you are headed out tonight or Friday morning. Temperatures have fallen to 40° in Lexington and Jackson but are in the 30s across most of the region. By morning some areas will bottom out under 30°.

Meteorologist Michael Estime will have the latest on our holiday weekend forecast starting at 5 a.m. on Good Morning Kentucky.
_______________________________________________________

While the afternoons keep getting warmer, our mornings are staying chilly. Overnight, temperatures will drop back to near 30° or just below in some areas. Clouds will begin to build back in Friday morning.

By Friday afternoon, we will be mostly cloudy with temperatures climbing into the low 50s. Most areas will stay dry but areas to the west and south of Lexington could see some rain in the afternoon and evening.

The rain will finish pushing out of southern Kentucky by Saturday morning. In the afternoon, we will see a mix of sun and clouds with highs reaching into the upper 50s.
