Midnight Update: Clouds continue to build further north and skies are now mostly cloudy from the Tennessee border all the way north to the Ohio River. Temperatures have fallen into the 40s in most areas, but Lexington is now at 39°.
Meteorologist Michael Estime will have the latest on our current warming trend starting at 5 a.m. on Good Morning Kentucky.
More clouds are building into the area and will thicken overnight into Thursday. Temperatures tonight will fall into the low 30s, making for a cool start to the day.
Our warming trend will continue Thursday afternoon with afternoon highs in the mid 50s. We will see more clouds than sunshine throughout the day. It now looks like the rain will stay east and south of the Bluegrass Thursday afternoon and evening. Areas along and south/east of a line from Somerset to London and through Jackson could still see some light rain in the second half of the day. Any rain will end by early Friday morning.
Opening day at Keeneland (Friday) is now looking dry with mostly sunny skies and highs in the low 60s.
