Update: Light rain is falling in most areas of central and eastern Kentucky in the final hour of 2013. Areas north of I-64 are still expected to switch to a sleet/snow mix in the very early hours of 2013. Up to a half inch of accumulation is possible in northern Kentucky. Stay safe on your way home and have a very happy new year!!

_______________________________________________________________________________

Light rain is starting to push in from our southwest this evening. Areas north of Interstate 64 will likely see this rain switch to a sleet/snow mixture by midnight. Areas further south will likely stay as rain.

By Tuesday morning, temperatures will be in the low 30s as the wintry mix continues in our northern counties. Our southern counties are expected to see more rain in the morning.

The sleet and snow will slowly mix further south Tuesday afternoon, but by that time, most precipitation will be coming to and end. Afternoon highs on the first day of 2013 will be in the mid 30s.
