With a moderate to severe drought in progress, any rain is helpful, much less several days of rain! Rain showers will continue tonight with isolated thunderstorms. Moisture from the south, will continue to pump in rain through the overnight as well as throughout Friday. Cloudy skies and periods of heavy rain will continue Friday as temperatures struggle in the upper 70s. The winds will be out of the southeast at 3 to 8 mph.
Off and on rain under mostly cluody skies will persist through the weekend as well. By the end of the stretch most locations will have received around 2" of rain with some locations receiving upwards of 3"-4". At this point it looks like the highest rainfall totals will be in southern Kentucky.
