Light rain showers will increase in coverage as temperatures remain in the 40s this evening.
As we head into the overnight temperatures will drop into the 30s, and some wet snowflakes will be possible with the rain showers by Tuesday morning. No snow accumulation is expected, although some locations may have some brief collection of light snow on the grass or elevated surfaces. Morning low temperatures will drop to around freezing early Tuesday, but ground temperatures will remain well above freezing, so little road concerns are expected. The exception may be a few slight spots on bridges and overpasses. The best chance for brief snow showers will be north of I-64. Southern Kentucky will only see the chance for snow in elevations higher than 2,000 feet.
Tuesday afternoon high pressure will build in from the west. Afternoon sunshine is expected with temperatures in the low 40s.
The coldest morning of the week will be Wednesday, with morning lows in the mid 20s and afternoon high temperatures in the mid 40s under mostly sunny skies.
