Stray evening storms still possible as temperatures remain warm
A Heat Advisory will be in effect from 11 A.M. through 9 P.M. Wednesday for Franklin and Anderson counties. Heat indices are expected around 105 through the afternoon.

Thunderstorms will come to an end this evening and then partly cloudy skies and warm temperatures will continue. We're dropping into the mid 70s tonight with light winds out of the west at 5 to 10 mph.

The hottest day of the week is expected on Wednesday with high temperatures soaring into the mid 90s. The heat index will be between 100° and 105° through the afternoon. A few stray storms will be possible, but no organized severe weather is expected.

We'll be in the low 90s Thursday ahead of an overnight cold front that will eventually
drop temperatures to near normal for the weekend. Along the cold front Thursday night into Friday, widespread thunderstorms are again expected. High temperatures this weekend will be in the mid to upper 80s with only stray storms possible.
