Another Rain and Snow Mix We're Watching

The clouds and cold temperatures will continue as we end the work week, but rain and snow will return heading into the weekend.
Cloudy skies will continue tonight as temperatures remain rather steady. Overnight low temperatures will only drop into the mid 20s with light and variable winds. A dry overnight is expected.

Mostly cloudy skies will persist into Friday, with only a few peaks of sun possible for the midday or early afternoon. The winds will be out of the southwest at 3 to 10 mph. A dry afternoon is expected, but by the evening a few rain showers will be pushing north into the Lake Cumberland region of south central Kentucky. As the showers push northeast, the will arrive in the Bluegrass for the late evening. Temperatures will be falling for the evening and a transition to snow showers will be possible on the north side of the precipitation.

The best chance for wet, slushy snow will be along and north of the Bluegrass Parkway. The precipitation will linger into the overnight. We'll watch the potential for accumulating snow in the Bluegrass. There will be less of a chance in south central Kentucky. We may also have some light accumulations in the highest terrain of eastern Kentucky.
