Extra clouds continue this evening in southeastern Kentucky. Through the overnight, the skies will clear from west to east. Under mostly clear skies, by morning, temperatures will drop into the mid 20s. Widespread frost is expected with some patchy fog as well.

High pressure will move overhead on Wednesday with more sunshine in the forecast. Mostly sunny skies are in the forecast Wednesday afternoon, although temperatures will struggle in the low 40s, below normal. A light west wind will increase to around 3 to 8 mph in the afternoon.

As high pressure exits to the east, the winds will return out of the southwest, allowing temperatures to continue to climb. Highs on Thursday should peak in the low 50s with more areawide sunshine.
