A Winter Storm Warning is in effect for Fayette, Woodford, Anderson, Nicholas, Boyle and Madison counties through 9 A.M. Wednesday morning.

A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for Casey, Lincoln, Garrard, Madison, Franklin, Scott, Harrison, Bourbon, Fleming, Montgomery, Wolfe, Menifee, Powell, Rowan, Nicholas, Magoffin and Morgan counties through Wednesday morning.

As temperatures remain very close to freezing at the surface and aloft in the atmosphere, moisture will stream in from the south this evening. We're expected a mix of freezing rain at times, which will lead to some accumulating ice, also sleet, which will cause slush to accumulate in some locations. The precipitation will continue into the overnight as temperatures drop off a few degrees.

Untreated area roads are expected to become slick this evening, with the potential for accumulating ice.

Moisture will exit the region Wednesday morning, as temperatures climb back above freezing for the midweek, with highs in the upper 30s.

Stay tuned to ABC 36 this evening for all the latest on the Winter Storm.
