A Winter Weather Advisory is in effect for eastern and south central Kentucky through 3 P.M. on Friday.
A Wind Advisory is in effect through Friday morning, with wind gusts as high as 50 mph possible.
The steady rain has come to an end but scattered snow showers are likely now for the late evening and during the overnight. Light to moderate bands of snow will move through during the overnight and as temperatures fall into the mid 20s by Friday morning, some snow will collect on elevated surfaces and grassy locations. A few slick roads will also be possible. Most locations will see a covering of snow, with totals around 1" possible in parts of eastern Kentucky and in the northern part of the Bluegrass.
Lingering light snow showers will remain possible through Friday with cloudy skies. Temperatures will remain cold, with highs only climbing into the mid 30s. Wind chills will remain in the 20s.
The sun will return this weekend as temperatures start to climb.
