A Severe Thunderstorm Watch is in effect through 1 A.M. Tuesday morning across central Kentucky, and southern KY, but not along the TN border, as well as eastern Kentucky, but not including extreme southeast KY.

A line of strong storms will approach from the west for the evening. They will slide into the Bluegrass for the late evening and overnight. A few storms may remain strong to severe, with large hail and damaging winds the main concern. Off and on storms will persist through the overnight, although the threat for severe weather will likely diminish. Temperatures will only drop into the mid 60s by Tuesday morning.
Mostly cloudy skies and scattered to widespread thunderstorms will persist on Tuesday with a boundary overhead. The threat for severe thunderstorms will be low. Temperatures will remain warm with highs expected in the upper 70s to around 80 degrees.
By the midweek, temperatures will quickly warm into the mid 80s with only stray to scattered storms possible in eastern Kentucky.
