Only a stray shower or storm will be possible for the overnight and early on Friday. The best chance will be across southern Kentucky. Most locations will remain dry with only the extra clouds. Temperatures will drop back into the mid 60s for the overnight.
An approaching cold front will collide with moisture in place across the region, and more thunderstorms are expected late on Friday and into our weekend. In the afternoon on Friday scattered thunderstorms will develop as temperatures peak in the low 80s. Thunderstorms will then become more widespread for the late evening and overnight. A few storms may be strong to severe, with large hail and possibly some gusty winds. Storms will linger to start off Saturday, but they should push south for the afternoon. Fewer afternoon thunderstorms are expected in the Bluegrass. High temperatures will remain in the low to mid 80s through the weekend.
