A Red Flag Warning continues through the early evening across central and eastern Kentucky, where low humidity and gusty winds will produce an elevated wildfire threat.
A Freeze Warning will be in effect Wednesday morning for all of central and eastern Kentucky.
With high pressure approaching from the northwest, the winds will weaken during the overnight. The weaker winds and mostly clear skies will allow temperatures to drop into the low 30s and upper 20s across the region. In valleys and rural locations, temperatures are expected to bottom out in the upper 20s with a freeze likely.
After a cold morning, the afternoon sunshine will take the temperature into the low 50s for the afternoon on Wednesday. Another dry day is expected Thursday with high temperatures back around 60 degrees.
The chance for a few showers and storms will return as we head into the weekend.
