1AM MONDAY MORNING UPDATE

Temperatures are hovering around 20 degrees for areas along I-64, with snow and sleet across Central and Eastern Kentucky. Heavier snow bands are expected to develop through the early morning hours of Monday, with snowfall rates of 1", to possibly 2" per hour. This will lead to quick accumulations of snowfall, on top of the already icy conditions we've experienced from Sunday night. Hazardous traveling conditions will continue through Monday morning, with snow ending by late morning around Frankfort, to late afternoon for Southeast Kentucky. Monday morning low temperatures will be around 15 degrees, with afternoon high temperatures only reach 21 degrees. We may see more breaks in the clouds across Central Kentucky by the late afternoon hours of your Monday, with partly cloudy skies Monday night into Tuesday morning, with overnight low temperatures around 6 degrees. Tuesday will be drier, yet icy conditions will continue to be a problem for any untreated surfaces, with high temperatures only reaching 29 degrees. We don't look to get above freezing until Wednesday afternoon, yet afternoon high temperatures will only reach 34 degrees. Milder temperatures return by late in the week, with high temperatures back into the 40s for Thursday and Friday. Next week will feature highs in the mid to upper 40s for Saturday and Sunday.
