After a windy and warm Wednesday, temperatures will remain mild through the evening and overnight. South winds will persist at 10 to 18 mph through the overnight as scattered clouds begin to thicken. Overnight low temperatures will only drop into the low 50s. Afternoon highs on Thursday are expected in the low 60s as rain returns to the region. A dry morning is expected, but rain will be arriving from the northwest by the midday. Rain will overspread the region during the afternoon, and it will continue into the evening. Rainfall totals are expected around 1" for most locations, higher totals will be more common south of the I-64 corridor. The rain will exit early Friday with a dry and pleasant afternoon expected, but showers and storms will then return late in the weekend.
