Clouds have begun to blanket the state and will continue to thicken overnight.
Rain showers will creep into our western counties, initially near Lake Cumberland and near / west of Highway 127 first, during the late evening and overnight hours.
Late tonight, rain showers will expand eastward and cover most of the region by daybreak on Saturday.
Saturday will be very wet, with several episodes of widespread rain showers.
Between 1/2" and 1" of rain is likely across most of the area.
Light rain showers will linger into Sunday, and by Sunday evening, a few snow flurries may occur, but that will be after most of the precipitation has exited.
A stray rain or snow shower will be possible early on Monday, but no real impact is anticipated.
High pressure will keep the entire area dry and bright on Tuesday.
A weak disturbance may clip Kentucky on Wednesday and Thursday morning, so a few rain and snow showers or flurries may be possible, although that system's storm track remains uncertain, and it could miss Kentucky to the south.
