Isolated Thunderstorms Tonight, With A Warming Trend Ahead

A cold front from the north will move southward into Kentucky tonight, giving us the chance for some rain showers and thunderstorms. After a pleasant and warm Wednesday, we will have a warming trend as we approach the weekend.
Midnight Update:  We've had another round of decent rainfall this evening across the Bluegrass, with Lexington picking up 0.38", Richmond 0.49", Harrodsburg 0.55", Winchester 0.59", Frankfort 0.37", and Cynthiana 0.37".  We will continue to have the chance for a few lingering rain showers overnight, with some patchy fog developing by the early morning hours of Wednesday.  There will be a chance for an isolated shower or thunderstorm mainly for southeastern parts of Kentucky on Wednesday, with generally partly sunny skies.  Wednesday afternoon high temperatures will be around 82 degrees.

There will be a chance for some isolated thunderstorms this evening and tonight, with drier and more pleasant conditions for Wednesday. We will have a warming trend through the rest of the week, with the summer solstice officially this Friday, June 21st at 1:04 a.m.

Tonight: We will have the chance for some isolated thunderstorms this evening. With any thunderstorms that develop, heavy rainfall, frequent lightning, and gusty winds are possible. There will also be some developing fog overnight as well. Overnight low temperatures will be around 62 degrees.

Wednesday: We will start off the day with a little patchy fog in the morning with mostly sunny skies by midday, and partly sunny skies by the afternoon. There will be a chance for an isolated thunderstorm on Wednesday, with the best chance for areas east of I-75. Wednesday high temperatures will be around 82 degrees, with lower humidity values making for a warm, yet pleasant day.

Wednesday Night: We will have mostly clear skies overnight Wednesday into Thursday morning, with low temperatures around 61 degrees.

Thursday: Temperatures get a little warmer for Thursday, with mostly sunny to partly sunny skies, and a high temperature of 85 degrees.

Friday: Friday is officially the first day of summer, or summer solstice at 1:04 a.m. For our first day of summer, we’ll have a high of 87 degrees, with an isolated thunderstorm possible.

Weekend: Partly sunny skies will be around for the weekend, with temperatures in the upper 80s to near 90 degrees. There will be a chance for some isolated, late day thunderstorms for both Saturday and Sunday.
