Showers, Storms & Snow Flurries - Thursday

Showers, Storms & Snow Flurries - Thursday

Showers continue this afternoon with temps in the 40's, but colder air moving in could switch some of those to snow tonight..
Afternoon Update:

Temperatures at the noon hour in Lexington are in the upper 40s, keeping all precipitation as rain for now. Strong westerly winds gusting up to 45mph will bring in much colder air late this afternoon. As we continue to cool off this evening, rain will begin to transition over to snow. The Blue Grass could see a dusting of snow by Friday morning as we cool into the mid 20's.

Look for showers and a few storms this morning with highs (this morning) in the low to mid 50s.  As we head towards lunch, look for temps to tumble into the upper 40s with a few more thunderstorms in store.  Those storms may produce very heavy rainfall with gusty winds!  Winds may gust upwards of 40-50mph! The NWS has issued a Wind Advisory for all of central KY through Friday.

This evening, around the 9pm hour, a few of those lingering showers may transition to snow showers and snow flurries.  This should last into Friday morning.  A light dusting of snow is possible...especially in the higher elevation of eastern KY and towards the northern end of the Blue Grass.
