Mild & Breezy Start To Weekend

Mild & Breezy Start To Weekend

Temperatures will be around 60 degrees for Saturday, with wind gusts up to 30 mph. Cooler temperatures return for Sunday. Wintry precipitation is possible for next week.
Early Weekend Update:  We will have a mild start to your weekend with your Saturday afternoon highs reaching 60 degrees.  Southwesterly winds will increase throughout the day, with wind gusts up to 30 mph.  A dry cold front will move through early Sunday morning, bringing a few extra clouds, with Sunday morning low temperatures around 39 degrees.  Sunday will be a little cooler, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 53 degrees.  Veterans Day Monday will be seasonal, with mostly sunny skies and a high of 59 degrees.  A strong cold front will move through early Tuesday morning, which may give us a rain-snow mix for the early part of Tuesday.  No significant accumulations are expected, yet we will need to monitor this system closely, as roadways could get slippery for Tuesday.  Tuesday high temperatures will only reach 39 degrees.  Upper 30s will continue into Wednesday, with partly sunny skies.  Temperatures remain in the mid to upper 40s for Thursday and Friday of next week, with partly sunny skies.
We will have mild and breezy conditions for the start of the weekend, with seasonally cool conditions for Sunday and Veterans Day Monday. Much colder, Canadian air moves in Tuesday, with the possibility for some wintry precipitation.

TONIGHT: We will have mostly clear skies tonight, with overnight low temperatures around 34 degrees.

SATURDAY: Mostly sunny skies will continue for Saturday with mild and breezy conditions. Temperatures will be around 53 degrees for the noon kickoff of the UK vs. Missouri football game, with afternoon high temperatures around 60 degrees. With low pressure to our north and high pressure to our southeast, we can expect to have breezy southwesterly winds throughout the day, with wind gusts up to 30 mph.

SATURDAY NIGHT: A weak cold front is expected to move through Saturday night, yet only some extra clouds and a wind shift to the northwest is expected. Sunday morning low temperatures will be around 39 degrees.

SUNDAY: High pressure builds back into the region for Sunday, giving us mostly sunny skies with a high of 53 degrees.

VETERANS DAY MONDAY: Temperatures will remain in the upper 50s to near 60 degrees for Veterans Day Monday, with partly sunny skies.

TUESDAY – THURSDAY: A strong cold front will drop out of Canada Monday night and move through Kentucky on Tuesday morning, giving us much colder temperatures and the chance for wintry precipitation. There is plenty of uncertainty for next Tuesday, yet currently we are not expecting any significant accumulations across the viewing area at this time. Our main concern will be slippery roadways, as a cold rain looks to transition to snow early Tuesday. Since the ground temperature will have been warm (Monday’s highs are around 59 degrees), we don’t expect there to be any real accumulations, unless the snowfall rate picks up quickly (which is possible). So we will need to watch this system closely, as plenty can change. Colder temperatures will continue through midweek, with highs in the upper 30s Tuesday and Wednesday, and highs in the low to mid 40s on Thursday.
