Lingering Rain Chances For Tuesday

Midnight Update:  We will have a few lingering rain showers into early Tuesday, yet most of the rain will diminish, with patchy dense fog developing.  Tuesday morning low temperatures will be around 68 degrees.  After the morning fog, we look to have some sunshine early Tuesday, with scattered thunderstorms developing by late in the day.  Tuesday afternoon high temperatures will be around 87 degrees.  A cold front will move through Tuesday night, which will keep the chance for lingering rain showers around for early Wednesday.  Comfortable air will return late Wednesday through the rest of the work week, with temperatures remaining in the lower 80s Wednesday through Friday.

We will continue to have the chance for rain and thunderstorms through Tuesday, with more comfortable conditions returning for the second-half of the work week. There is also an enhanced risk across Kentucky, for strong to severe thunderstorms Tuesday afternoon.

Tonight: Scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be possible through this evening and overnight, yet most of the rain will diminish in coverage past midnight. With the leftover moisture from today’s rainfall, we will also have some patchy dense fog developing for early Tuesday morning. Overnight low temperatures will be around 68 degrees.

Tuesday: A cold front will approach the region on Tuesday, giving us a chance for rain and thunderstorms, for mainly late in the day. The Storm Prediction Center has Kentucky under an enhanced risk for strong to severe thunderstorms, with gusty winds, frequent lightning, and heavy rainfall the biggest threats. Tuesday afternoon will remain warm, with a high of 87 degrees.

Tuesday Night: The cold front will move through Tuesday night with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms possible. Overnight Tuesday into Wednesday morning low temperatures will be around 64 degrees.

Wednesday: There will be a chance for a few lingering rain showers on Wednesday, yet mild, drier air will begin to move into the region throughout the day, making for a pleasant mid to late week. Wednesday high temperatures will be around 80 degrees.

Thursday and Friday: Drier, more pleasant conditions return for Thursday and Friday, with mostly to partly sunny skies and high temperatures in the lower 80s.

Weekend: Another cold front will approach the region and move through late Saturday into Sunday, bringing another chance for rain showers and thunderstorms this weekend. Temperatures will be around 80 degrees for Saturday and Sunday.
