Good Morning Kentucky! You have finally made it to your Friday!
Before heading out the door this morning, may I suggest grabbing an umbrella. We're tracking showers and a few thunderstorms just west of the Blue Grass moving towards the east. Expect the arrival of these showers by late morning and into the afternoon hours. A few of you that do see the thunderstorms will notice brief but heavy downpours with lightning. Otherwise, in the main, clouds will dominate with off and on showers and rumbles of thunder through your day. Highs on the last day of your workweek will hit upper 80 degree readings with overnight lows tumbling into the low 70s. It's going to be warm and humid today, so you'll more than likely need your AC at one point or another.
Saturday, I'm calling for much the same as your Friday. Though I think the coverage of showers and thunderstorms will be a little less than today, Sunday will be a day worth watching closely for strong to severe storms.
There is a chance we could see heavy and strong storms on Sunday. Most likely the line of showers and storms will approach from the northwest and move towards the southeast. Along this line is the best chance for seeing heavy torrential rain with gusty winds and perhaps hail as well. If you are going to be away from your computer, but have a smart phone, download our ABC 36 App to keep you ahead of the storm. Here is a link to our mobile app:
