Dense Fog Possible Overnight With Chilly Temperatures

Midnight Update:  A Dense Fog Advisory has now been issued for the viewing area, with dense fog already developing across the region.  Expect dense fog to continue throughout the morning commute, with the fog burning off by around 10am.  Morning low temperatures will be a chilly 43 degrees.  By Friday afternoon, we'll have mostly sunny skies with a high of 65 degrees.  Friday evening looks to be mostly clear with temperatures around 57 degrees at 8pm, with the Full "Hunter's" Moon officially at 7:38pm Friday night.  A cold front will approach and move through the region on Saturday, giving us the chance for a few sprinkles.  Temperatures will remain cool this weekend, with highs around 60 degrees.  Mostly sunny skies return for Sunday and Monday.  Another cold front will move through next Tuesday, bringing some of the coolest air we've had this season.  There will be the potential for frost advisories by Wednesday morning.

Dense fog will be possible overnight into Friday morning, with the chance for some light rain showers on Saturday. Cooler temperatures stay in the extended forecast, with frost and freeze potential for next week.

TONIGHT: Clouds will decrease early tonight, with dense fog developing overnight. Overnight low temperatures will be around 43 degrees, making for a chilly start to Friday.

FRIDAY: After a foggy start to the day, mostly sunny skies will return for Friday afternoon with a high temperature of 65 degrees. If you’re heading out to high school football games or Big Blue Madness at Rupp Arena, temperatures will be around 57 degrees at the start, and into the lower 50s for the ride home.

SATURDAY: A weak cold front will move through the region on Saturday, giving us mostly cloudy skies and the chance for some spotty rain showers. This cold front will also bring in a reinforcing shot of cooler air, with a high of 60 degrees for Saturday.

SATURDAY NIGHT: Mostly clear skies and chilly temperatures will be around for Saturday night into Sunday morning, with a low temperature of 40 degrees.

SUNDAY: High pressure builds into the region for the end of the weekend, with mostly sunny skies and a cool high temperature of 62 degrees.

NEXT WEEK: Temperatures remain in the low to mid 60s for Monday and Tuesday, with partly sunny skies. A cold front will move through Tuesday, bringing much cooler air for the rest of the week. Morning lows temperatures will be in the 30s, with 50s for highs Wednesday through the rest of the week. As a result, frost and freeze advisories may be issued next week.
