Warmest Weather Of The Year Expected Sunday

Most areas will climb into the low 80s on Sunday with windy conditions. Then winter will try to return early in the week.
Midnight Update: Skies remain mostly clear tonight, with some thin clouds moving through Kentucky.

Temperatures have dropped slightly since the afternoon. As of midnight, most areas are in the upper 60s to low 70s, with Lexington at 68°.

On a side note, Blue Grass Airport hit 79° Saturday afternoon, tying the highest temperature of the year so far. Lexington also hit 79° on April 1st this year.

Skies will stay mostly clear Saturday night into Sunday morning with mild and breezy conditions. Temperatures will only drop into the upper 50s by Sunday morning.

A few more clouds will move in Sunday afternoon with winds picking up throughout the day. Afternoon highs will be in the low 80s, the warmest of the year so far.

Showers and thunderstorms will arrive along with a cold front Monday, holding temperatures back into the upper 60s.

Colder air will continue to build in on Tuesday, which could turn a few of our raindrops into snowflakes in the morning. Afternoon highs will only be in the mid 40s.

The sunshine returns Wednesday with temperatures clawing their way back into the mid and upper 50s.
