Turning Milder, Eventually Wet

Temperatures will peak in the lower 50s today and middle 50s tomorrow as rain chances gradually rise from north to south.
A warming trend is underway as a large storm system approaches from the Southern Rockies and Great Plains.  We'll peak near 52 degrees this afternoon, and some scattered rain showers will become likely late today, north of I-64, closer to a front that will stall across Indiana and Ohio.  After an even milder Tuesday with highs in the middle 50s, widespread rain will arrive on Tuesday evening and into Wednesday, leaving 0.5" to 1" across most areas.  Leftover showers will exit on Thursday and Friday morning.  Christmas Eve and Christmas will be seasonably chilly with highs in the middle 40s.  Details remain unclear at this point due to disagreement among the computer models, but one or potentially even two disturbances may pass close enough to produce a mix of rain and snow on Christmas Eve and Christmas.  Stay tuned.
