Today will be a warmer, partly sunny day with highs near 77 degrees.  Isolated showers and thunderstorms will be possible during the day, but a widespread round of strong to potentially severe thunderstorms will arrive during the evening from the northwest.  Large hail, damaging winds and an isolated tornado or two will be possible across the Ohio Valley.  Locally, the greatest risk area for severe weather will be the central and northern part of Kentucky.  Tonight, the showers and thunderstorms will slide south through the area, and we'll cool down to 53 degrees.  By Saturday morning, the final few showers and weaker thunderstorms will gradually be drifting through far southern and southeastern Kentucky, moving into Tennessee and Virginia.  Saturday will be cooler and dry across the Bluegrass Area, with highs in the middle 60s.  Most of Sunday will be dry but warmer, as highs climb to near 79 degrees and only a very isolated late-day thunderstorm develops in a few spots.  A slow-moving storm system will arrive next week, taking a few days to entirely cross the area.  On Monday, we'll warm up to 82 degrees but scattered thunderstorms will become possible late in the day.  Tuesday will be much wetter with soaking showers and some thunderstorms.  Showers will linger on Wednesday, and potentially even Thursday in southern Kentucky as much cooler air arrives behind a slowly departing low pressure system.
