Starting To Warm Back Up Tuesday

Starting To Warm Back Up Tuesday

Many areas should climb back above freezing this afternoon. Mostly sunny skies will help melt away some of our ice and snow.
Noon Update: We are seeing sunny skies in central Kentucky with a few more clouds to our south and east. Assuming we keep that sunshine around all afternoon, we are still on track to climb back above freezing.

As of noon, most cities are in the mid 20s with Lexington at 24°. That's not too bad considering we dropped to 8° this morning!

Chief Meteorologist Jason Myers will update you our on latest warming trend tonight at 5, 6, and 11 on ABC 36.

Forecast: Our warming trend kicks off today! Skies will clear through the morning, making for a mostly sunny afternoon. Many areas will even climb just above freezing in the afternoon, with Lexington topping out near 33°.

Any melting we see during the day won't last long, as we dip back into the teens Monday night into Tuesday morning. Wind chills will fall into the single digits.

Tuesday will be warmer with highs back into the low 40s. Skies will remain mostly clear.

The warm up continues through Friday, when we claw our way back into the low 50s!
