Soaking rain will drench the entire area today, with many areas seeing around - or more than - 1" by late afternoon. Temperatures will remain mild, peaking in the 50s this afternoon. A second storm system will deliver a major cooldown for the end of the week. Temperatures will fall throughout the day on Thursday, and a round of wind-driven snow showers will occur on Thursday evening, Thursday night and into Friday morning. Thursday evening's commute could be very hazardous. Snow showers will linger on Friday and highs will only be in the 20s. A few flurries will accompany a weaker disturbance on Saturday evening into Sunday morning. Temperatures will recover back closer to average on Monday and Tuesday of next week, as a new storm system brings rain that may end as a brief period of snow.
