Showers South & East, Partly Sunny in Bluegrass

Low pressure will continue to move from the Gulf Coast to the Carolinas, producing showers in southeastern Kentucky.
The forecast will be split today, with scattered showers in southeastern Kentucky, but partly sunny and drier weather in central Kentucky.  Highs will be near normal, peaking around 68 degrees this afternoon.  The final showers will exit eastern Kentucky tonight, and patchy fog will form in many areas late tonight.  High pressure will provide lots of sunshine and warmer weather on Thursday, as highs peak in the middle 70s.  Most of Friday will be dry and even warmer, but scattered thunderstorms will arrive on Friday evening or Friday night.  Saturday through Tuesday will be much cooler, with readings about 10° below normal at the end of the weekend and early next week, as low pressure stalls overhead.  Showers will be widespread on Saturday, and leftover, lighter, scattered showers will linger on Sunday, Monday and even Tuesday as the storm system spins, nearly stationary, across the southern Appalachians and Ohio Valley.
