After a mainly dry morning, scattered thunderstorms will develop around midday and through the afternoon as a slow-moving cold front crosses Kentucky.  Highs will be near 81°.  Scattered showers and thunderstorms will linger overnight, although they will weaken and cover less ground after 10 or 11 PM.  Lows will dip down to around 57°, and Tuesday and Wednesday will feature highs in the 70s.  The low pressure system tied to the front will very slowly drift east, so additional showers and thunderstorms will be possible again on Tuesday, and even into Wednesday in eastern Kentucky.  By Thursday, only an isolated shower or thunderstorm will be possible as temperatures return to the 80s.  Heat more typical of midsummer will build into Kentucky for Memorial Day weekend, boosting temperatures to their highest levels since last year.  We'll peak near 90 degrees with dry weather in central Kentucky, and very isolated, mountain thunderstorms near the Virginia and Tennessee state lines.
