A Winter Weather Advisory continues through Saturday evening for all of central, southern, and eastern Kentucky due to hazardous travel conditions.
The heaviest snow will come to an end late Saturday morning in Lexington. The heavier snow will continue in southern and eastern Kentucky into the afternoon hours. Snow totals will be between 2-4 inches in most areas, but blowing snow will make measuring the accumulation difficult.
Once the snow ends, hazardous travel conditions will continue, even on major roadways. Strong winds will blow the snow back onto roadways after they are cleared, especially in more rural areas. The blowing snow could also reduce visibilities at times.
If you absolutely have to head out Saturday, drive very slowly and leave plenty of space between yourself and the other drivers. Make sure you have plenty of gas in your tank and extra warm clothing in case you break down or become stuck in traffic for an extended period.
