The first half of the week will feature near-record warmth with highs in the lower 80s. Today's record high in Lexington is 79°, initially set in 1907, then tied in 1945. We should blast past that to 81°. Most areas will stay dry today, tomorrow and Wednesday, although a very isolated thunderstorm or two will be possible each afternoon, with the most likely storms today to the north of I-64. Thunderstorms will become more widespread late in the week and into the weekend as temperatures cool down, thanks to a cold front.
