Midnight Update: Light rain showers have now expanded far enough north to encompass the entire region. Heavier rain is falling in pockets south of Interstate 64. Rain will continue for most of the night into Sunday morning and could be heavy at times.
As of midnight, temperatures have fallen into the low 40s and upper 30s. We'll give back a couple degrees by Sunday morning for an overall mild night.
Forecast: Rain showers are pushing into southern Kentucky and will arrive in central Kentucky Saturday night. The heaviest rain is expected to fall early Sunday morning. Even with the rain, we will stay mild overnight as temperatures fall to about 40° by Sunday morning.
The rain will push to our northeast during the day Sunday as a cold front begins to work through Kentucky. Before the front arrives, temperatures will make it into the mid 40s. Expect mostly cloudy skies once the rain ends.
We could see a light wintry mix in a few areas early Monday morning. Temperatures will range from the mid 20s to the low 30s on Monday.
More sunshine is expected Tuesday with highs in the mid 30s.
