Spring officially started at 1:14 AM, very early this morning, and the unseasonably warm weather will continue to drive afternoon high temperatures to challenge or exceed records.
Highs will be in the lower 80s today and tomorrow, and most areas will be dry under partly sunny skies.
Only a very isolated thunderstorm or two will develop this afternoon over the high ground of far eastern and southeastern Kentucky.
Temperatures will trend downward into the 60s for highs this weekend and into early next week after a more widespread round of showers and thunderstorms occurs on Friday, Saturday and into Sunday morning, tied to a cold front.
Dry weather will return by Monday.
