Afternoon Update:

We're seeing those all-to-common summer showers and pop up thunderstorms developing in the Blue Grass. Given the warm, moist environment, the Storm Prediction Center may issue a Severe Weather Watch for parts of Central Kentucky, so be on stand by for that.  The main threat would be heavy rain, frequent lightning, gusty winds and hail out of the thunderstorms that develop.

You can always join me online at: www.Facebook.com/Michael.Estime - should a watch for warning be issued, that information will immediately post on my Facebook page and in your Newsfeed.

This morning, we're seeing a few scattered showers west of I-75. Have your umbrellas on stand by as you head out the door.  We'll call it partly cloudy and mild today with temps on your lunch break in the mid 70s.  Later this afternoon, we're anticipating a mix of clouds and sun as highs top out in the low 80s.

If you're already planning on heading out on the 4th of July, we're expecting low 80s with a few hit and miss summer showers and storms.

What a Beautiful Weekend in the Blue Grass - Hope you were able to find some time to sit back and relax :-) Your First Day of July could be a wet one in some spots. Look for spotty showers mainly south of I-64 during the morning. This afternoon, we're forecasting summer pop up showers and storms to move north of I-64. Have your umbrellas on stand by today. Highs are expected in the low 80s with overnight lows in the low 60s. See you on ABC 36 Good Morning Kentucky from 5am - 9am for more on your Independence Day forecast!
