A Heat Advisory is in effect from through 9 P.M. today for central Kentucky. Heat indices are expected around 105 through the afternoon.
Today will be the hottest day of the week with high temperatures soaring into the mid 90s.
The heat index will be between 100° and 105° through the afternoon.
A few stray storms will be possible, but no organized severe weather is expected.
Winds will be fairly breezy out of the southwest at 10-15 mph.
Thursday will be another hot day ahead of a cold front as temperatures climb into the low 90s.
The cold front will arrive late in the evening bringing widespread thunderstorms.
A few storms could become severe with damaging winds, especially in the Bluegrass.
The cold front, and thunderstorms, will depart by midday Friday.
High temperatures this weekend will be in the mid to upper 80s.
