Heat Advisories are in effect this afternoon and evening in Owen, Grant, Pendleton, Bracken, Robertson, Mason, Lewis, Carter and Lawrence Counties.
It'll be another hot, humid day with highs near 93° and a heat index close to 100° in the mid to late afternoon. The heat index in northern Kentucky will come close to 105° for a few hours. Scattered thunderstorms will form, with slightly more widespread coverage than yesterday. A strong cold front will arrive late on Thursday, producing an even more widespread and potentially stronger round of thunderstorms. Some of the Thursday afternoon and evening storms could be severe with wind and hail. Showers and thunderstorms will linger into Friday morning before a drying trend develops from north to south. After a few days of drought relief, the weekend will be drier in central Kentucky, with isolated thunderstorms limited only to the southern and southeastern part of Kentucky. Highs will be in the middle to upper 80s this weekend, then readings will rebound into the lower 90s as thunderstorm chances return to the Bluegrass, early next week.
