A Heat Advisory is in effect for all of central and eastern Kentucky today.
Heat indices around 105° will be likely, with an air temperature just above 100 degrees.
Please take precautions if you do need to be in the heat.
Extreme heat will continue across the region over the next several days.
Afternoon high temperatures are expected to exceed 100 degree through Saturday.
Weaker winds and higher humidity will lessen, but not eliminate, the high fire danger.
However, as higher humidity settles into the region, heat index to run 2-4 degrees higher than the air temperature.
