Flooding in Richmond

Locally heavy rain has prompted a Flash Flood Warning through 8 P.M. for parts of Madison county, including downtown Richmond.
Locally heavy rain continues in parts of central Kentucky.

In Madison County a Flash Flood Warning has been issued through 8 P.M. Doppler radar estimates 1.5"-2" of rain has fallen in central and eastern Madison county since 6 P.M.

The Fire Department in Richmond has reported several streets in downtown Richmond impassable because of flooding. Several cars have stalled in the high water.

Also in the Bluegrass Bourbon County Fire Department reports trees down in several areas around the county.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 11 P.M. for Bourbon, Casey, Clark, Clinton, Cumberland, Garrard, Lincoln, Madison, Monroe, Nicholas and Russell counties.
