Some scattered, light rain showers will slide across the southern half of Kentucky through midday, with only some isolated sprinkles to the north. It will be a mild afternoon with decreasing clouds and highs in the upper 40s. After a chilly night, Tuesday will be mild and partly sunny with highs in the lower 50s. Soaking rain will accompany a large storm system on Wednesday, and this will be the storm that brings big changes to the area as arctic air follows on the heels of the system. Snow showers will occur on Thursday, with some help from the Great Lakes to our northwest. Flurries will linger into Friday, especially in eastern Kentucky. Dry air will return for the weekend, and temperatures will remain a bit below normal, even for the middle of January.
