Cooler Temperatures Settle In...

After a mostly gray Saturday, the sun came out for most of the state by late afternoon.  Tonight as clouds continue clearing and isolated showers move eastward, temperatures will drop 10-15 degrees below average.  Why so cold?  A cold front continues passing to the east pulling in a cold airmass. Also, clear skies tonight will allow for radiational cooling (no cloud insulation) and winds out of the northwest at 6-10 will contribute to falling temperatures.  The good news...this sets us up for a GREAT Sunday.  Temperatures will be in the mid 70s across the state with light winds out of the west and mostly clear skies with sunshine. Sunday night, cooler temperatures will settle in once again to the mid 50s with mostly clear skies remaining. Temperatures will continue rising from Monday onward.  We can expect partly cloudy skies by Tuesday with a 30% chance of isloated showers rising to a 60% chance of rain and thunderstorms for Wednesday.
