The heat wave has finally ended, and readings are hovering in the lower to middle 80s. Plenty of clouds and some spotty showers are accompanying the front as it slowly drifts south across the region. The front will spark some additional thunderstorms, which will be most likely in the southern half of the area, late this afternoon. The entire seven-day forecast will feature highs in the middle 80s and lows in the middle to upper 60s, with a shower or thunderstorm possible, each day. Southern Kentucky will be the wettest part of the Commonwealth, as a front will stall over Tennessee and the Carolinas.
