Colder Weather Expected Sunday

Colder air is flowing into the Bluegrass and will send temperatures back below average for Sunday afternoon.
Midnight Update: We are still seeing very little precipitation in our portion of Kentucky. As of midnight, there are a few pockets of very light rainfall east of Lexington. Some of these could switch over to some very light snow showers in the early hours of Sunday, but no accumulation or travel issues are expected.

Temperatures continue to fall. Much of central Kentucky is now in the mid 30s with eastern Kentucky closer to 40°.

Forecast: Colder air will continue to build in Saturday night from the west. As this happens, we could see a few spotty rain showers tonight, which could transition into a few spotty snow showers by Sunday morning. It looks like any precipitation will be light and will not accumulate.

By morning, we will drop down into the mid and upper 20s across the region.

We will only rebound into the low 30s Sunday afternoon under mostly cloudy skies. Breezy winds up to 15mph will make it feel even colder.

We will slowly start to warm back up Monday with afternoon highs in the mid 30s. Skies will remain mostly cloudy.

Temperatures will continue to slowly climb through the work week with more sunshine Wednesday and Thursday.
