Midnight Update: Winds continue to die down with most cities now between 0 and 5 mph. This is helping to eliminate wind chill values across the region, but the actual temperatures continue to fall. Lexington is now at 29° with many cities down into the mid 20s.

Skies remain mostly clear tonight and will stay that way into your Friday morning.

Meteorologist Michael Estime will be in to update you on our gradual warming trend Friday morning on ABC 36 starting at 5 a.m. on Good Morning Kentucky.
______________________________________________________________

Temperatures will fall down into the mid 20s by midnight, making for a cold wait outside local stores. By Friday morning we will be in the low 20s with mostly clear skies.

Friday afternoon will be slightly warmer. Afternoon highs will be near 40° with mostly sunny skies and light winds.

We continue to warm up on Saturday into the mid 40s with a few more clouds.

By the end of the weekend, we could see thermometers reading as high as the upper 40s. Unfortunately, that's still a bit below average for this time of year.
